Texas REALTORS® is starting a program to promote meaningful cooperation between Texas and Mexico by encouraging local REALTOR® associations in Texas and chapters of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) to work together on mutually-agreed goals. Texas REALTORS® will provide support and assistance to local REALTOR® associations in reaching and drafting substantive Memorandums of Understanding with local AMPI sections and accomplishing the respective objectives.
The Greater El Paso Association of REALTORS® is currently working with AMPI Juarez though this program, choosing to focus on professionalism, education, and international business exchange as their MOU objectives. Texas REALTORS® helped the parties draft this MOU and plans to facilitate more cooperative relationships between local REALTOR® associations in Texas and AMPI sections in the coming months, with the tailored agreements being formally recognized and celebrated at the 2019 Texas REALTORS® Conference in September in Fort Worth.
Texas REALTORS® has been appointed the ambassador association to Mexico by the National Association of REALTORS®, and this program will serve to strengthen that relationship and further localized cooperation. This program doesn’t interfere with local Texas associations’ ability to sign MOUs with any other partner or global group or the ability of AMPI sections to sign MOUs with REALTOR® associations outside of Texas.
